Carpet
& Upholstery Cleaning in
Cambridgeshire & Suffolk
Introducing
the multiple-award winning
cleaning system,
known as Hot Water Extraction or HWE, also commonly referred to as
'steam cleaning'. The HWE method has been progressively developed
worldwide over a period of approximately 40-years
by cleaning professionals ofboth
commercial and residential carpets and upholstery . This dynamic process
consists of a combination of no less than four composite
forces, enabling it to achieve outstanding cleaning results. The
following represents a simplified insight into this quite
sophisticated cleaning process.
HIGH
WATER
PRESSURE
(100-500 p.s.i)
Highly
pressurized cleaning solution is 'jetted' onto the upholstery fabric or carpet
fibers. This serves to both agitate and mobilize compacted soil and stain residues from the surface which
has become 'caked' or 'matted'. The process works in much
the same way as a domestic garden pressure washer.
EXTREME
TEMPERATURE
(110f)
Applied
heat is known to increase the molecular reaction rate of both carpet fibers
together with the dirt and stains trapped within them. Generally
speaking, the higher the temperature, the greater the molecular
activity, and in turn the better the cleaning effect.
MIXED
CHEMICAL
REACTIONS
Various
chemical reactions occur depending on the type of chemical being
applied and the composition of the soiling or stain being cleaned.
Chemical residues are then thoroughly rinsed away using an acetic acid
solution, thus lowering the pH value of the carpet fibers to its
original safe pH neutral state.
VACUUM
PRESSURE (SUCTION)
The
final part of the cleaning process is achieved by several ‘passes’ over the carpet surface using a powerful vacuum tool known as a
‘wand’. This effectively extracts the liquidized dirt and grit solids
together with the spent chemical residue.
"You can't be smug where
carpets are concerned"
Here is a fascinating little movie-clip
taken from the Richard & Judy show.
Essentially it is a presentation of some quite sobering scientific research,
although it also powerfully highlights the importance of getting a reputable company to clean your carpets.
The Richard
& Judy HORROR show !!
In particular, listen out for the comments made by one
of the participants (Della's mother), who regularly has her
carpets
"cleaned". She of
course wrongly assumes that her carpets are far cleaner than her daughters,
and is understandably shocked by the laboratory results. Evidently,
Della's mother has been using one of
the 'price buster' companies, that only do half a job.
Remember. . . not all carpet cleaners are the same!

Results' page, to find out what every carpet cleaner
SHOULD be doing in order to give you that truly thorough, DEEP-DOWN clean.
